My adventure with the BIVOUAC Cie

Genesis of a beautiful adventure: human and artistic. In April 2021, after a long period of arrest following the Covid, I was invited to participate in a hearing of the BIVUAC Company to which I applied on the networks. It was a return to the role of Wraps Air on the show « PERCEPTIONS ». Until then, I had been very trained, and I was looking forward to showing the evolution of my work before contemporary circus professionals, at last!

The hearing, which followed with a residence for the luckiest, was held in Marseilles. We were 3 artists of Aerial Straps different universes and qualities.

The hearing passed without any real addicts, despite the stress, the perilous originality of the structure on which to evolve, and the difficulty that I experienced in performing certain game exercises (it was a first!). Unlike I felt less confident because I was less experienced, hence my surprise at the verdict...

Selected! Surprised, happy and eager to put it. I had 10 days of residence to integrate this role and to incarnate as best possible with in line a first performance at La MECA in Bordeaux for a video recording.

The first step in this resumption of role was to learn and grasp the machine, to find its paths, its corporality on this ingenious structure, which does not leave room for error: to forget the vertigo, place to the madness and the risks that it rests!

At the same time I discover the richness of this show, the diversity of disciplines (Chinese mast, smooth rope, dance, Aerial Straps, baudrier, live music), and the opening of the possibilities he offers, both to the artist and to the spectator.

Then we had to learn each painting, and its intentions. A wonderful learning experience for me: Game! With a lot of successes and failures. In cA great picture: a universe, a different character... of madness, poetry, power, delicacy, acrobatics, technique. A tedious schizophrenic process, but nourishing and rewarding.

Then... you had to repeat, repeat, and repeat again! Work transitions, find my game, and my place on this machine of the future and among the other beautiful artists already in place.

It's an intense show, where the importance of leaving your guts in symbiosis with other artists is paramount if you don't want to let the machine win the game on the human.

It was hard, physically, mentally, but I was supported by this incredible team, which gave me the energy to get to the end of this learning. The connection between us was immediate. I had the feeling of being in the adventure from the beginning: pure happiness.

After these 10 days, I was ready to live the rest of the adventure.

On the program a beautiful summer tour, despite this painful pandemic, which continued to plague the entertainment world. We were lucky, escaping the obstacles...

Equations spread over a diffraction structure revealing unknown elementary particles, space and relative temporality, parallel dimensions... An ordinary reality invisible to the naked eye soon emerges in the eye. As human exploration evolves, the suspended world changes and becomes unpredictable.
